Promoting a Spirit of Belonging among the Nation
Together we create the future by promoting a spirit of belonging among the nation and reinforcing the values of citizenship.
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision is based on a connection between national loyalty and a sense of belonging to the country as a concept, and the importance of preserving national pillars that reinforce citizenship values and commit to a shared identity as represented by values, customs, traditions, and heritage. HM the King’s vision guides the present towards a future that meets the aspirations for a decent life and comprehensive progress across all fields.
The National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship (Bahrainouna)
The National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship (Bahrainouna) is built on unifying the work of various public and private organizations with the goal of incorporating it within a strategy that focuses their efforts and measures their impact. The plan includes an analysis of challenges and objectives, and aims to strengthen Bahraini roots and the Bahraini identity, in addition to identifying shared responsibilities. These topics form the foundation upon which Bahrainouna can formulate programs and strategies.
Bahrainouna includes several initiatives in essential fields: Programs on ‘belonging’, public relations campaigns, media, curriculums, legislation, and regulations. This is in addition to national performance indicators that measure shifts in citizens’ attitudes towards national belonging and citizenship values, as well as the effectiveness of implementing these initiatives and their social impact.
In March 2022, the Bahrain Flag Guide was published by the Bahrainouna Executive Office. It includes protocols related to the flag, such as its uses, the national anthem, a set of rules and guidelines about the official use of the flag in various events, and other related information.
