Licensed Lawyers before the Court of Cessation Registration Request

This service is provided by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf to Individual lawyers requesting to transfer from being practicing lawyers to licensed lawyers before the court of cassation.

   Required Documents

  1. Registration application form
  2. A letter to His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs requesting to transfer the registration from the Practicing Lawyers Rolls to the Rolls of Lawyers Licensed to appear before the Court of Cassation, the period of experience should not be less than 8 years
  3. If an applicant was not previously registered in the Lawyers Rolls and requests to be registered to practice as a licensed lawyer before the Court of Cassation, an experience certificate of engaging in legal work for a period not less than 10 years should be presented, accompanied by a job description together with the documents indicated in the Second Clause (3, 4, 5, 6 and 7)
  4. Original university certificates with emphasis on the need to ratify such certificates from the concerned authorities, if they are issued by an overseas university (in case of registration in the Rolls of Lawyers Licensed)
  5. Letter from the Criminal Investigation Directorate illustrating the applicant's Criminal Status Statement which confirms that there are no previous criminal offences (in case of registration as a licensed lawyer)

  • BD 250 for the registration in the Rolls of Lawyers Licensed to appear before the Court of Cassation without being articled clerks and practice as lawyers
  • BD 50 per annum for renewal
