Maritime Wireless Telecommunication Licenses Request

This service is provided by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Wireless licensing, Frequencies & Monitoring Directorate (WLFMD) to Individuals and Businesses and Governmental Entities requesting to issue a Marine Wireless Communication Licenses which are:

Marine ship-station licensesVessel and yachts for Individuals (Private)

  1. Application form
  2. Authorization letter for the company who will import and fix the equipment (if necessary)
  3. Letter from the supplier company mentioning all the equipment details & quantity.
  4. Copy of the Identity Card for the applicant.
  5. Copyof the registration certificate for the ship from the Coast Guard
  6. Copy of the technical specifications of the devices
  7. Copy of the Declaration of Conformity

Marine ship-station licenses for Ships and vessel for Businesses and Governmental Entities

  1. Application form
  2. Authorization letter for the company who will import and install the equipment (if necessary)
  3. Letter from the supplier company providing details of all equipment & quantity
  4. Copy of the Commercial Registration
  5. Copy of the registration certificate for the ship from the concerned entities (Coast Guard/ Ports and Maritime Affairs)
  6. Copy of the technical specifications of the equipment
  7. Copy of the Declaration of Conformity

Fixed marine service licenses (Coast Station)

This license is permit to the maritime ports and coastal marine stations and marine clubs as well as private agencies which provide marine services that companies engaged in offshore operations and has ships operating in Bahrain's territorial waters or in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

  1. Authorization letter for the company who will import and install the devices
  2. Letter from the supplier company mentioning all the equipment detailsand quantity
  3. Copy of the technical specifications of the devices
  4. Copy of the Declaration of Conformity

   Important notes

  • Readiness:
All ships stations with a total tonnage of equal or more than 300 tons shall install the Global System of Maritime Distress as stipulated in the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 and its amendments. The frequencies used for the GMSS shall be as Appendix 15 Of the Radio Regulations, as well as all ships used for commercial purposes.
