Thank you for visiting the National portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain www.bahrain.bh that is owned and maintained by Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA). The section below describes the privacy policy on how to handle and collect information when you visit the portal.

In this privacy policy statement, the words "we", "our" and "us" refers to the Information & eGovernment Authority and “you” and “your” refers to the user of the Website, “website” which is the National portal established at URL www.bahrain.bh.

Collection & Usage of Personal Information

Upon providing us with your personal data such as - but not limited to - email address, phone number, ID card number, etc.; this information may be requested while filling-out an online form, participating in a survey, or when contacting us via email – this information or data may be utilized when responding to your messages or help us answer your requests.

In certain situations, iGA may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including meeting national security or law enforcement requirements.

The information you provide us may be shared with another governmental institution or entity in the event that answering your questions require their input and feedback, or otherwise are required by law - for instance, to comply with a subpoena or similar legal processes. Any information you supply will not be used for commercial marketing; instead, it will be utilized for purposes such as:

  1. Answering customer service requests 
  2. To update you about the release of new government services available from iGA.
  3. To improve www.bahrain.bh and its related services.
  4. To request feedback from you.
  5. To make www.bahrain.bh easier to use by retaining your information in order to eliminate the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information.

If you notice any discrepancy in your data (available with us), please update it with the latest based on your knowledge. We will retain your personal data only as necessary for the effective delivery of public services and to comply with legal obligations mandated by the law, which is to provide any necessary information about fraudulent transactions or in accordance with international Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. Personal data will also be retained to be consumed for resolving any related service disputes raised by you. Our portal offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums; please be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, you may contact us at info@iga.gov.bh.  In some cases, we may not be capable of removing your personal information, in this case we will certainly inform you along with the reason. 

Selling your personal information to third parties is out of the question; however, we may provide your personal data to companies that provide services in order to help us with our business activities; for instance, vehicle insurance. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary so as to provide these services to us.


You may choose to stop receiving our marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these sent emails or you may contact us at  optout@iga.gov.bh.

We may enable you to create a profile, and share information such as messages, account details and photos with others. Please note that we cannot control the actions of others with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. To request removal of your personal information from your profile, contact us at contactcenter@iga.gov.bh In some cases, we may not be capable of removing your personal information, in this case we will certainly inform you along with the reason.

Updating and Accessing Personally Identifiable Information

The Information & eGovernment Authority will provide you with updates about whether or not we hold any of your personal data. If your identifiable information changes or you no longer desire to obtain our services; you may correct, update, amend, delete, or de-activate it by making the changes on our member information page or by emailing our Customer Care Unit at  info@iga.gov.bh, or through Tawasul . Other methods include contacting the National Contact Center by calling (+973) 8000 8001 or postal mail P.O. Box 75533 Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Our team will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Tracking Technologies

The authority and our partners – namely, government websites, affiliates or analytics or service providers, use technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags and scripts. These technologies are utilized in analyzing trends, administering the website, tracking users’ movements around the website and for the purpose of gathering demographic information about our user-base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.

We use Local Storage Objects (LSOs) such as HTML5 content information and preferences. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 LSOs.

Social Media Widgets

Our website includes Social Media Features such as the Facebook ‘Like’ button and widgets like the ‘Share this’ button. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our website and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website.
