GCC residents & investors in Bahrain are able to issue an ID card subject to the following terms and conditions:
- The ID card is only issued to GCC citizens residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the following ID Card branches: Isa Town branch and (Seef Mall - Muharraq).
- GCC nationals do not need to book an appointment to issue an ID Card.
- If all requirements are met, the ID Card can be issued immediately.
- The fee for issuing an ID Card is BD10.
- GCC residents are unable to travel using the issued ID Card.
- The ID Card cannot be utilized as an alternative to the driver’s license.
- The ID Card allows access to health centres, public and private hospitals, or any official organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain (ministries and governmental entities).
2. Conditions for obtaining the ID Card (one of the following conditions should be met):
- Proof of residency in the Kingdom of Bahrain is required.
- The applicant must own a house or a property in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- The applicant must be an investor in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Female applicants must be married to a Bahraini citizen.
- Male applicants must be married to a Bahraini woman or a father to her children.
- The applicant must be employed or studying in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
For those who do not meet the previous conditions, the ID Card of the applicant issued by their country will be activated.
- If the applicant owns a leased address and does not reside in Bahrain, however, frequently visits the Kingdom, their GCC ID Card can be activated at the Identity Card Centres and they will be able to use their GCC ID Card in the Kingdom with the same benefits as the Bahraini ID Card.
3. Required documents for issuing ID Cards
- Personal attendance is required for children (ages10 and above).
- Must present a valid passport.
- Must present a recent coloured photo with a grey colour background (RGB 168,168,168).
- Must present the electricity bill or an address statement from the Municipality.
- If the applicant has children studying in schools within Bahrain, a letter must be presented verifying their school enrollment from the Ministry of Education
